The interdisciplinary SwissMoves group has completed more than 20 projects since 2019 with partners from different fields. These projects include direct industrial mandates as well as academic research projects. This page presents some of SwissMoves’ flagship projects.
The collaborative Teleoperation project, launched in June 2020, was tasked with developing a remotely operated vehicle concept. This allows a single person to manage several vehicles, to intervene in case of malfunction and to address users when an unexpected stop occurs.
The universities HEIA-FR, HEG-FR, UniFr, BFH, the transport companies SBB, CarPostal Switzerland, TPF and the companies RUAG Schweiz, CertX, DTC, as well as the Food & Nutrition Cluster were partners in this project supported by the New Regional Policy (NPR) Fribourg.

Competence Center for Automated Mobility
This two-stage project aims at preparing the creation of a Swiss Homologation Center (CHS) and a Competence Center for Automated Mobility (CCMA). The 1st step “CHS-CCMA Evaluation” consisted in evaluating and developing a concept for the verification, certification and homologation of autonomous vehicles. Then, the objective of the 2nd step “CHS-CCMA Preparation” was to develop and implement the basic infrastructure and the technical processes necessary for the homologation of automated vehicles according to an adapted legal framework.

Safety and cybersecurity analysis of autonomous shuttles
How do autonomous shuttles respond to safety and cybersecurity threats?
This project aimed at analyzing the functional safety of the autonomous shuttle of the Transports Publics Fribourgeois (TPF) according to the ISO 26262-2011 automotive standard, as well as the cybersecurity according to the OSSTMM methodology.
